Your Visit And Surgery
Initial Consultation
This is your most
important step in making a decision to
have surgery. Dr. Bolitho will meet with
you to discuss your goals, desires and
expectations. He will also address any
questions or concerns you may have and
offer you realistic recommendations and
options based on the information you
provide. The goal of this initial
consultation is to provide you with a
clear understanding of what can be
achieved as a result of your procedure.
Fees and
Insurance
In most cases,
aesthetic surgery is considered elective
and, hence, is usually not covered by
medical insurance. Reconstructive
surgery, however, may be covered in
certain instances. You are fully
responsible for any fees associated with
aesthetic surgery.
When insurance covers your procedure,
Dr. Bolitho's staff will obtain
pre-authorizations prior to surgery.
Should your procedure fall into that
grey area between aesthetic and
reconstructive, we will assist in
settling the issue with your insurance
company until a resolution is reached.
Planning
Your Surgery
Every patient, as well as every
physician, has a different view of the
art and science of plastic surgery. Dr.
Bolitho will describe your procedure in
detail, explain its risks and
limitations, and make sure you have
reasonable expectations for your
results. Dr. Bolitho will also explain
the type of anesthesia that will be used
in your case. He will tell you about the
facility where the surgery will be
performed and provide a breakdown of
all costs.
